Disruptive Educational Models

Disruptive Educational Models

Education must evolve over time, but today the academic training offered by universities are becoming obsolete, offering very traditional models that do not cover the needs required by the market today. There are academic centers that are starting to launch radical models highly adapted to present needs, generating considerable disruption in the educational sector. Different organizations are already carrying out different models that are changing higher education, these are the centers that are bringing the future to the formation of the present: University of Mondragon, with the degree of Leinn (Entrepreneurial leadership and innovation), implementing the Finnish methodology of Team Academy, create and develop a company, teamwork in real projects with customers and immerse in the society and actual market. Minerva Schools in San Francisco, they bet on teamwork and international projects, leaving the traditional class. Also in Denmark, The School of Kaospilot, they fuse design and entrepreneurship together in order to generate impact in the future.

However, not just the universities are the ones offering this kind of academic training; there are progressively more companies/organizations that launch these courses and dynamics of training adapted to the market trends. According to what World Economic Forum said, in 2020 the key skills are going to be the resolution of problems, the critical thinking, and the creativity, what actually we can not learn at university. Until now, most of the universities continue offering same titles, methodologies, and teachers, which goes class to translate all his knowledge to the student, who limits himself to listen to the teacher and working alone at their homes. This entails that the previous generations are not prepared for facing the challenges that the future is going to bring. Technology is more present than ever, which makes it more simple finding what the teachers have shown us, that reflect the obsolescence of this educational model in less than 10 years.

22 out of the 30´n best universities of the world are from North America, the rest are British, Canadian or Japanese. Whereas in Europe seems that the system does not been adapted to the requirements of the academic training. Finland is one of the best-known countries according to the educational model, since the first year of school until the last year in the university, Finland bets for the team learning and for the learning by doing. In that way, the learning is more pleasant and the knowledge it looks to accelerate.

From the organizations/companies, they are launching new initiatives in order to train people specifically for getting out to the market with minimum knowledge. In Itik Consulting we always are committed with the academic training of professionals in the sectors sports and leisure, now looking at the needs that market shown us, we have created Itik Explore, an initiative for training people with a project, or also for the ones that have an idea on this fields. It is a program of accelerating and looking that place for the projects in the market, though this program; we train the assistants and make a personified tracing for each project in order to achieve the best learning. This accelerator process allows the assistants to have other insights from the actual situation in the market, and how to launch their product to it. This learning model is really efficient due to the methodology that we are using. This academic training is completely updated and adapted to the market requirements, unlike the actual educative models.
