Summary

The study Public partnership agreements in municipal sports complexes in municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants. Learning experiences with different designs and results analyzes four cases of municipalities that have developed public-private partnerships for the management of municipal sports facilities and have achieved different results. In a context in which, during the crisis, there have been cases of projects of this type that have been forced to close. Based on the description and interpretation of real cases, the study attempts to shed light on the relationships between local corporations and the private sector. Relationships that the same normative framework establishes that in their essence are not equal. The need to preserve the interest and public service by the Administration already determine the rules of the game that will be necessary for the private entity to understand and accept. However, this inequality does not prevent it from becoming increasingly necessary to establish bridges of collaboration between both sectors to continue guaranteeing quality and accessible sports offer to all citizens. The study is appropriate to reflect on the suitability of this mechanism and how to ensure that they generate positive results for both parties.
