The empowerment of the role of women in the Spanish hockey ecosystem based on a coordinated strategy

The Spanish Hockey Federation (RFEH), after carrying out the Strategic Plan 2021-2030 and developing one of its main programs, has drawn up the Plan for Equality between Women and Sport in order to achieve parity in all areas of this sport.

Itik consulting, commissioned by the RFEH, has carried out the Plan for Equality between Women and Sport, aligning it with the recent Strategic Plan of the RFEH and forming part of the Universo Mujer program promoted by the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD).

The application of the Plan for Equality between Women and Sport will allow the RFEH to consolidate and strengthen sports policies and programs to contribute to equal opportunities, improving conditions and greater visibility of all women who are part of the Spanish hockey in all its aspects: athletes, coaches, referees, management positions and governing bodies. This plan is based on the following three projects:

The RFEH in the coming years, based on the projects of the Plan for Equality Women and Sport, hopes to achieve ambitious long-term goals such as reaching 25,000 women's licenses, to make 'hockey' become a benchmark sport in terms of equality in all their fields and to be in the top 4 of the world in the absolute and inferior selections feminine. In the short term, the proposed objectives are:

Universo Mujer II is a program of the CSD that aims to promote and increase women's participation in all areas of sport, with the aim of contributing to the improvement and social transformation through the values ​​of the sport. Thus, this program materializes in the implementation of projects that seek the dissemination and promotion of women's sports through pillars of action such as sports development, training, leadership and visibility of women, including others.
